Portrait Sculptures

A single, one-of-a-kind, life-size bronze portrait will last many life times.  It's the kind of art that can be proudly passed down from generation to generation.  

Ed Voelkel works mostly from photographs so there’s no need for long exhausting modeling sessions.  Ed prefers to take photos and measurements himself but can work with nothing more than photos you supply.  Some people have supplied nothing more than a single snapshot of a completely spontaneous moment that they wanted to have immortalized in bronze.  Although it’s difficult to work with only one photo, Ed has nonetheless done some astonishing work when that’s all he had to work with.  Even an old, faded photograph of a deceased love one can be enough to bring powerful memories to life in the form of a bronze portrait.

The human figure has fascinated artists for thousands of years, yet the most demanding of body parts is arguably the human face, with its ability to display a wide range of powerful emotions.  As if having the breath of life itself within them, many of these sculptures speak volumes in their silence, forever allowing the viewer to see, what the subject felt at that brief moment in time. An expression of joy or grief, painstakingly recreated in clay and then cast in bronze to last countless generations.

2 x Life Size   $25,000 + tax

Includes: African rosewood base, brass name tag, pedestal (48"H x 35"W x 35"D), painted to match decor

A 50% deposit is required to start a bronze sculpture.
